A multi-criteria optimization study for locating industrial warehouses with the integration of BIM and GIS data

One of the newest advancements in manufacturing and project management is Building Information Modeling (BIM) which uses creative processes for production, analysis, building information. On other hand, output Geographic System (GIS) model includes one or more actual locations, satisfy all needs. It provides points related to BIM tool it creates a 3D visualizing optimum location. Integration GIS can bring about several advantages including locating. The aim current study propose useful locating warehouses large factories using BIM-GIS integrated model. To this end, was used simulation product casting unit Esfahan’s Mobarakeh Steel Company (EMSC) Iran. In order meet these aims, locations were selected EMSC compound, decision making regarding three superior alternatives carried out by creating warehouse fitting suggested locations. Using extant literature, interviews with experts managers, survey questionnaires, essential criteria affecting industrial extracted based on information modeling data. Then, Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method data analysis. results indicated that among various criteria, economic–social crisis had highest weights. These then selecting construction warehouses.
